We welcome Magnus Gustafsson – new R&D Manager at Emballator Lagan Plast
Posted 2021-03-23What are your first impressions of Emballator?
“I’ve heard a lot of positive things about the company before and that has been strengthened since I started. The packaging industry should and needs to develop more in the future, and there’s a clear need for sustainability and taking care of the product lifecycle.”
What is your primary role?
“It’s working with developing new products. Of course, there are different parts in my role, but a lot is about product development and together with the team improve and develop. It’s also important for me to work close together with other departments, especially Sales & Marketing, to include the customers’ needs in the product development.”
Shortly, can you tell us about your background?
“I’ve been working as a consultant during many years and been working in different industries. The roles have been in Product development, IT and business development. For the last ten years I’ve been working as R&D Manager at a company in the retail industry. I’ve seen a lot of different companies and have tried to be inspired of the good things and develop the things that has been less good.”
Our values are important for us, which one or ones do you carry with you in your work?
“A lot of my work is about innovation. Development and efficiency in R&D and other processes in the company, motivates me.”
Finally, what are you doing in your spare time?
“When the weather is warm and nice I like to play golf. Beyond that I like to travel and experience new places, even if it’s hard right now. One destination that has been frequently visited is Florida and Miami Beach. It’s warm and nice, easy to make yourself understood and not least easy to drive. Simply, it’s America.”
Håkan Larsson, CEO of Emballator Lagan Plast, is happy about the recruitment.
“With Magnus we are strengthening the resources for development. His experience and personality will strengthen our close-to-customer work of development. That is important characteristics when we are connecting the research and development in our Innovation center with our own product development to create new sustainable products for our customers.”
