Improved Ecovadis score for Emballator Metal Group
Posted 2021-09-14Thanks to creating clarity when it comes to sustainability work and adding a clear Code of conduct, Emballator Metal Group in Ulricehamn has improved their Ecovadis score. The company has gone from bronze to silver in a year – and are aiming for gold.
Ecovadis, the world’s most trusted business sustainability rating according to themselves, work with more than 75 000 companies in over 160 countries and 200 industries. The score includes ratings for Environment, Ethics, Labor & Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement.
“I’m really happy that we have reach this and I believe it’s a fair result, compared to what we do. We are compared to other companies in our industry and have had some new initiatives since last year, for example our common Code of conduct that have made it more clear how we work with Labor & Human Rights. We have also worked with Sustainable procurement and how we collaborate with our suppliers”, says Ulrica Emanuelsson, Quality & Environmental Manager at Emballator Metal Group in Ulricehamn.
Beyond the Code of conduct and sustainable procurement, Ecovadis highlight the work with power consumption and that Emballator Metal Group buys renewable electricity.
“One thing that we can improve to next year is reporting what we actually do and our power consumption. Our new printing press is a great example of what we do to change our environmental impact, the new one is using electric power instead of liquefied petroleum gas.”
Going from bronze to silver is one sub-goal for Emballator Metal Group, next goal is to reach gold.
“I think gold is possible to reach for us, we continue to work with initiatives within procurement, how to minimize our waste, and how to make sure that the whole organization, all departments, have implemented the Code of conduct”, says Ulrica Emanuelsson.
