Possibilities at Emballator Innovation Center – Focus on design
Posted 2022-09-16What are the possibilities at Emballator Innovation Center? Brendon Vermillion, Innovation Designer, talks about the importance of the right design to create sustainable packaging.
Why is the design important to create sustainable packaging?
“Sustainability in our time has become a starting point, a standard, and a goal all at the same time. From the very beginning at the discussion stage and on to brainstorming and sketches, sustainability must play a major role for us to deliver products designed consciously with good intentions that we are proud of.
Then we can look the future generations in the eye with a smile and a clear conscience when we say that we did our best. In addition, we do better business with higher credibility among our customers when we take our responsibility seriously.”
How can the Innovation Center help brand owners in this area?
“Design creates value in every market and only increases in importance when brand owners consider their future and investments with focused care; as for example now when the whole world is facing major economic, logistical, and largely competitive challenges. McKinsey & Company’s article, “The Business Value of Design”, practically and simply present the opportunities and advantages of design. At the Innovation Center, we intend to collaborate with Emballator’s group companies and their customers to create innovative, profitable, and maximally satisfying results.”
Emballator produces millions of products every year, what does the collaboration between the Innovation Center and the companies within the group look like?
“In terms of design, we are a resource that offers new innovation-based creativity that differentiates resulting products from existing products within the group’s markets. We work in cooperation with the companies and their customers’ processes and can also strengthen collaborations with external designers/design firms for smoother communication and better results at the finish line. We at the Innovation Center are also working with new customers and new packaging towards thought-provoking “design yet to be desired” for the behavior and needs of the future.”
