Emballator Lagan invests in global standards
Posted 2023-09-07Greater accuracy and better traceability. Those are the main objectives as Emballator Lagan introduces a new standard for labelling pallets.
”This will result in increased traceability in the entire change, for the benefit of our customers and our own operations, says Richard Johansson, Sales and Marketing Manager at Emballator Lagan.
The new marking equipment is already up and running marking the goods at Emballator Lagan’s logistics department. After palletizing, the pallet is provided with a label on two sides, at exactly the same height, and one on the top side. This way, it is always easy to access and scan the pallet, regardless of where and how it is placed during transport and storage.
International standards
The entire procedure, the placement as well as the labels, is carried out according to the GS1 standard for automatic scanning.
“It enables better accuracy in our deliveries to customers and improved traceability throughout the chain. We chose the GS1 standard because it is proven to work well in Europe and is also used globally. Of course, we have also considered the requests of our customers,” says Richard Johansson.
A sustainability initiative
It is a long-term investment that will also contribute to increased automation in Emballator Lagan’s own production.
“By building on a GS1 standard, we introduce a business language that both people and systems can understand. Our flows will become more efficient, but we also contribute to a well-working chain of global goods.”
In the long run, it is a matter of sustainability.
”Deliveries that arrives to our customers safely without delays or damage contribute to lower carbon dioxide emissions and increased economic and environmental sustainability.”
