Emballator increases its share of recycled aluminum

At Emballator, we believe it is important to constantly work towards a more sustainable future and to lead the change. Recycled raw materials play a crucial role in the transition to a more sustainable society.                                                                                                                                                                                                       

From linear to circular

An important part of our commitment is to ensure the recyclability of our products. To reduce our climate footprint, we are increasing our share of recycled aluminum and now offer aluminum tubes with 100 % PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) content, even for food products.

 

Recycled aluminum vs. new raw material

Using recycled aluminum instead of new raw material reduces the product’s climate footprint by approximately 85 %. The reason for this significant difference is that extracting new raw material requires a lot of energy compared to using recycled material. In 2024, almost half of the aluminum we used was recycled. This resulted in a reduced climate footprint by 7150 tons CO₂e compared to new raw material.

At Emballator, we actively work to increase the proportion of recycled material in our packaging. This prepares us to meet our climate goals and future legislation.
