Visit from the Natural Science Program at Emballator’s Innovation Center
Posted 2025-03-13Emballator’s Innovation Center are always happy and grateful to welcome second-year students from the Natural Science Program, along with their teacher Anna-Sara Roos. This is the third year in a row, and it is always a pleasure. The focus is on chemistry and plastics, and these are the topics that Christian Olsson, material specialist from Emballator, discusses when they visit.
Christian went through various plastics and compared their structures and properties. He also presented bio-based plastic, which is an interesting topic. The students received a tour of the lab at the Emballator Innovation Center. The students learned how the different advanced instruments are used for thermal, chemical, and mechanical analyses. With the Innovation Center’s instruments, plastics can be identified and contaminants measured, for example, in recycled material. The processability as well as the ability to resist chemicals, oils, and oxygen can be verified.
‘This year, I felt that the students had a lot of good questions, even to the point where I had to think a bit before I could answer,’ says Christian.
Previously, two students have done their school projects with us. We look forward to more school projects and to meeting the students again next year and continuing our fruitful collaboration.
