Efficient transport for a sustainable future
Posted 2025-04-16Transport is a critical part of Emballator’s climate strategy. It accounts for about 10% of our total climate footprint. Our goal is to achieve climate-neutral transport by 2030. This means a shift to electrified vehicles and bio-based fuel instead of conventional vehicles whenever possible. We also optimize our logistics to minimize our carbon footprint. In 2024, our carbon footprint from transport decreased by 33% compared to 2021.
Here’s how we work towards this goal:
- Electrified vehicles and bio-based fuel: In 2024, we have increased the use of electric vehicles and bio-based fuel, mainly in internal transport between our units, but also for some customers. This has led to a reduction in CO2e emissions from transport by 33% compared to 2021. In just one year, we have reduced our climate footprint from transport by 21%.
- Optimized logistics: Through our new TIS system, we can optimize our transport to drive as full trucks as possible. In addition, we can plan and coordinate to a greater extent. We are constantly reviewing how we pack products on pallets and in trucks to maximize efficiency. By optimizing our packing methods and reducing the frequency of deliveries, we reduce our carbon emissions.
In the coming years, we will further increase the use of electric vehicles and bio-based fuels to get as close as possible to our goal of climate-neutral transport by 2030.
