Meet Markus Porath, Product Manager at Emballator in Mellerud
Posted 2025-04-22Markus Porath is a central person at Emballator, where he is responsible for the product range and development of the company’s products. With a passion for innovation and a strong connection to his local community, Markus has become an invaluable asset to the company.
Markus’s days are filled with many interesting tasks, such as driving product projects and monitoring the market for new trends and innovations. He coordinates the development and changes of existing products and regularly visits customers and suppliers to ensure that Emballator always stays ahead.
“Working on everything from the first wild idea to having a new finished product for the market is the most enjoyable part of my job,” says Markus. His enthusiasm for his work is contagious and inspires the entire team.
Development and Challenges
Since Markus started at Emballator in 2017, his role has evolved in line with changes in material technology. “Recycled material didn’t exist when I started,” he explains. One of his proudest achievements is the introduction of recycled material in Essity’s soap bottle, a project that was particularly challenging due to the bottle’s unique design.
Values and Community Engagement
Markus is strongly committed to the company’s values, especially those that involve contributing to positive community development. “Herenco’s companies are, through our customers and employees, a part of the local community where we operate,” he explains. “We should actively take responsibility for contributing to positive community development by creating jobs and growth, but also in the form of support for local associations and culture.” Outside of work, Markus is an active athlete with a great interest in cycling, padel, and running. He dreams of one day completing an Ironman and traveling more in Europe. “I have a small bucket list,” he says with a smile.
The Future at Emballator
Markus is optimistic about the future at Emballator. “It is a stable market. Blow-molded products will remain in the future,” he says. His advice to those who want to work in his profession is to have a technical interest and knowledge, be able to lead and understand other colleagues, and have experience from several industries.
