Renewable Energy Driving Sustainability at Emballator
Posted 2025-07-04Emballator is committed to using renewable energy to drive our sustainability goals. Our operations rely on various energy sources, including Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG), natural gas, electricity, district heating, and district cooling. Even though energy only stands for less than 3% of our total climate footprint, we recognize the importance of transitioning to climate-neutral energy sources to achieve our sustainability targets.
Our goals for renewable energy are:
- Becoming Climate-Neutral in Scope 1 by 2030: LPG is currently used for printing our packaging in tinplate and aluminum. Although there is no current alternative to LPG, we plan to transition to climate-neutral options as soon as they become available.
- Becoming Climate-Neutral in Scope 2 by 2030: In Sweden and Europack in Finland, we purchase electricity from climate-neutral sources through certificates. Not yet in France, Metalpack in Finland and the UK.
To achieve these goals, we are continuously working to improve our energy efficiency by optimizing our production processes and upgrading to more efficient machinery. This helps reduce our overall energy consumption and our carbon footprint.
By focusing on reducing our climate footprint, Emballator aims to set a new standard for sustainability in the packaging industry and contribute to a more sustainable future.
