From closure to handle

It’s easy to see the large, clear environmental impact when trying to reduce your footprint on the environment. At Emballator, we haven’t forgotten the small details. We work together between the companies at Emballator to achieve our common goals.

We are proud that the small detail on a large product is now made of 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. Together, Emballator Växjö and Emballator Ulricehamn have manufactured and assembled a plastic cylinder in 100% PCR. This is the small handle that sits on the metal wire of our tin canisters, for better user comfort. Since Växjö mostly manufactures for the somewhat more restrictive food industry, they have been looking for other ways to use PCR and found its user within the Emballator group.

The post-consumer recycled plastic comes from the Swedish deposit system and are caps from recycled PET bottles. With the help of this material, we have managed to reduce emissions by 90% compared to if we had used virgin plastic, i.e., 115 tons CO₂e/year.
